- ABCYA -This website has multiple math games that will help with multiplication, fractions and base ten. It also has some letter and writing games.
- Math is Fun -This website gives information about certain concepts and then has an activity to go along with what was taught. Great website for parents to be able to help students.
- FunBrain-- If you have a student who loves sports this is fun baseball math game. You can even change the type of math you would like to work on (mult, division, adding, sub).
- IXL- This website is great for your students to work on after a math concept has been taught. The website lists all of the skills 5th graders need to know. It then gives them sample questions and increases the difficulty as they improve. IXL also keeps track of your score for you.
- Math Chimp - This website has great games as well as video resources for parents and students. The common core standards are all listed and you can click on each standard. Within each standard there are different skills you can work on with games. If you get stuck or your student gets stuck you can click the Videos tab and it will pull up a video to demonstrate that skill.
Reading/ Spelling/Writing:
- Spelling City - This website allows students to type in their spelling words for the week and then gives them different games to practice. There are also different writing activities that can be found on the website.
- Wacky Web Tales- This lets the student create an online wacky story. The student chooses a category for their story. Then they insert different parts of speech and it is put together in a story that is silly and fun for them to create. Any student who creates a wacky story can print them off and bring them in to share with the class on their designated day. It also has a parts of speech help button if students need some extra help.
- Starfall- This a great reading website and it accommodates students that may need extra help with reading. They can find reading activities or online stories that will fit them and there is also a button so they can have the story read to them if they need help with words.
- Flashlight Readers- This website takes readers inside the book and lets them get inside of the book with different learning activities, author chats and slideshows. It also helps improve in students writing and reading skills.
- Scholastic Stacks- This game allows students to become a reporter. They will fill in the blanks and create an article based on certain pieces of art.
Science/Social Studies:
- Living and Non Living quiz- This gives students a quiz on different materials and tests them on their knowledge of living and non living things.
- Solids, Liquids, and Gases- This challenges students to determine whether the given items are solids, liquids or gases.
- Time for Kids- This gives students information about the past and the present in our history.
